More Information About Our School
Early Years
Our Early years comprises of the Pre-nursery, Nursery and Reception.
We believe in the individuality and uniqueness of every child and therefore strive to create an environment that stimulates and prepares them for life.
Key Stage 1
The Key Stage 1 provides a friendly atmosphere
where Year 1 and
Year 2 pupils can feel secure, happy and
valued. This promotes a positive attitude
to learning and helps children to grow in
confidence so that they can build effective
relationships, both with their peers and their
teachers.
Every child is encouraged to do their best, whether it be in the classroom, in sports or in activities in the Outside Learning Area. In Year 2, children build on their achievements and further develop their natural abilities, enabling them to adapt to the increasing demands and challenges of Key Stage 2.

Key Stage 2
In Key Stage 2 children continue to
develop the skills that will be necessary
to
maintain progress and add to their depth
of knowledge. Pupils are encouraged
to be more independent and to take
greater responsibility for their actions and
commitment to school life.
Our broad, well-balanced curriculum builds a sound academic foundation, complemented by participation in a variety of activities including sports. This encourages teamwork and fosters a competitive spirit that is valuable in so many aspects of school and in life.

After School
Children at Greenhive can choose from an
extensive range of clubs and activities held
after school. These provide children with
opportunities to extend their learning,
enhance their sporting abilities and grow
friendships beyond their peer group.
The choice is wide and varied from Art to
Baking, Piano to Dance!
Pupils are encouraged to participate in as
many activities and clubs as they wish, and
it is certainly an opportunity for them to
establish friendships with children from other
age groups and add to the breadth of their
experience at Greenhive School.
